December 2018

Back at home and currently washing clothes from the cruise. The cruise was great and I think AJ relaxed nicely and we got to see some amazing places, cultures and most importantly species. I was thrilled to see a dove species in Thailand that looked very familiar, the Zebra Dove – Geopelia striata, a close relative of the Australian Peaceful dove – Geopelia placida. We got to feed 2 Crocodilian species in Vietnam and see a colony of Flying foxes,  Pteropus lylei or Pteropus vampyrus, unfortunately we could not get close enough but still a delight to hear and see them. We met a nice cruise wholesaler on board and a few other passengers. The main barman at the Sunset Bar was very friendly and had many chats.

Back at home we are about to carpet the upstairs in a week then able to organise the house. Until then everything is rather makeshift and we don’t have a lot of room.

We are planning to head north to see my family for Christmas and I’m very worried to see the damage caused by the wide spread bushfires that happened while we were away. I’ve seen a video of the Eungella ranges and it was devastated, therefore I’m extremely scared.

I’ve been going over the music I was working on be for the cruise and I’ve got 8 tracks I’m working on but finding it very difficult to continue while the house is so disorganised.
